Yoanna Contreras Director

My name is Yoanna Contreras. I have lived in Calistoga my whole life. I went to the Calistoga Elementary School and to Calistoga Junior Senior High school. Since I was young, I always knew I wanted to work with children. My Senior Project was about opening up a Day Care Center/Preschool because I knew this is the field I wanted to get into. I attended Santa Rosa Junior College after I graduated high school to pursue Child Development and become a Preschool Teacher. I saw that there was an opening a few years after I was done at SRJC, at Hearts and Hands Preschool, so I applied and got hired and I’ve been here ever since. I started as a teacher and now I am the Director. I have 4 wonderful children, three girls and one boy, with my husband. During my free time I like to go to the park, beach, camping, and travel with my family.

My name is Rosalinda Ramirez. I have been living in Calistoga for 32 years.  My first experience I had working with children was when I volunteered at Calistoga Elementary school for nine years to tutor first and second grade. I enjoyed working with children so much that I decided to go back to school at Santa Rosa Junior College. I got my ESL diploma and my Child development Associate Teacher Certificate at Santa Rosa Junior College. I also worked at the Santa Rosa Junior College Children’s center for 3 years as an intern teacher while studying. I wanted to work full time and work closer to my community, so I came to Hearts and Hands Preschool and was hired soon after. I was hired as a teacher and now I am the Lead Teacher. I live with my husband; we enjoy camping, fishing, walking, and cooking together. We have 3 children who are now adults. I have eight beautiful grandchildren that I love with all my heart.

My name is Ana Mendoza. I have been living in Calistoga all of my life. Since a young age I have always enjoyed working with children. After I graduated high school I went to the Napa Valley College to pursue my education in Early Childhood and Family Studies to become a Preschool teacher. My first experience working with children I had the position as a Bilingual teacher at St. Helena Montessori and I am now here at Hearts and Hands in the town I grew up teaching my community’s children.
